What I Actually Used from My Hospital Bag

As you get closer to your due date, you'll hear people telling you to get your hospital bag ready. And yes, I would agree! If you're like me, you'll probably do a ton of research about what to pack and get everything in their months before you're due. I found that with all the blogs out there telling me what I would need, I actually didn't need as much as they said. I literally had two big bags full of stuff that I never used once. So, being the mom that I am, I put together a list of items that I actually did need and use so that you can get a quick and easy guide during the nesting period. These are items I highly suggest having:

  • Birth Plan

  • Socks

  • Robe

  • Shampoo & Conditioner

  • Soap

  • Phone Charger

  • Breast Pump and accessories

  • Snacks

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Easy to wear outfit to leave the hospital in

  • Slippers

  • Nursing bra

  • Nipple balm or cooling pads to soothe your nipples (once you get home, start using the Silvertte Nipple Cups).

In my 4-day hospital stay, all I really used while I was in bed was my phone charger. I didn't even get up to take a shower (because of the pain I was in) until the third day. Don't judge me. You can bring things for the baby to wear, but I didn't use anything other than her blanket to wrap her and keep her warm. I wanted to have easy access for as much skin-to-skin as possible which is SUPER important when you're breastfeeding a newborn.

So, that's it! That is my quick hospital bag guide!
